Apex Trader Funding evaluation rules, explained
Two current evaluation types — intraday trailing and end-of-day — a 30-day window, and a trailing floor whose stopping point depends on your platform.
The published numbers
| Account | Profit target | Daily loss | Max drawdown | Min days | Consistency |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 50K Intraday | $3,000 | None | $2,000 trailing (intraday) | None | None |
| 100K Intraday | $6,000 | None | $3,000 trailing (intraday) | None | None |
| 150K Intraday | $9,000 | None | $4,000 trailing (intraday) | None | None |
| 50K EOD | $3,000 | $1,000 | $2,000 trailing (EOD) | None | None |
Both evaluation types expire 30 days after access. On the EOD type the daily limit pauses trading for the session rather than failing the account. The older 50K/150K drawdowns of $2,500/$5,000 belong to Apex's retired Legacy rules.

How the drawdown actually works
On the intraday evaluation, the floor follows the highest value the account reaches at any moment — including profit sitting in an open trade you never closed. Run a position up $900, let it come back to breakeven, and your floor has still moved up $900 and will not move back down.
Where it stops depends on the data platform. On Rithmic and WealthCharts evaluations the floor stops rising at the profit-target level — on a 50K account it locks at $53,000 once the peak reaches $55,000. On Tradovate evaluations it does not stop at all during the evaluation.
The EOD evaluation moves the floor only from closing balances, so intraday spikes that are given back do not ratchet it. In exchange it adds a daily loss limit that pauses you for the session.
Worked example — busted while up $600
50K intraday evaluation, $2,000 trailing drawdown, Tradovate (no lock). Two days bring the closed balance to $52,700, so the floor sits at $50,700. Two losing days follow.
| Day | Day P&L | Balance after |
|---|---|---|
| Day 1 | +$1,500 | $51,500 |
| Day 2 | +$1,200 | $52,700 |
| Day 3 | −$900 | $51,800 |
| Day 4 | −$1,200 | $50,600 |
Result: failed on day 4 — the drawdown floor. Floor at that point: $50,700. Net P&L was +$600.
The account ends $600 above where it started and still fails, because the floor never stopped trailing. This uses closed balances only; on the intraday evaluation the real floor can sit even higher, from open profit a journal never records.
Computed at build time by the same evaluation engine the /prop copilot runs on your journal. The engine works on closed-trade balances; Apex Trader Funding enforces its limits on live equity including open P&L, so a mid-trade dip the journal never sees can still end an account. Consistency rules are not modelled. Illustrative trades, not a recommendation.
Questions traders ask
Does Apex have a daily loss limit?
The intraday-trailing evaluation has none. The EOD evaluation has one ($1,000 on 50K), and hitting it pauses trading for the rest of the session rather than failing the account.
Does Apex's trailing drawdown stop?
It depends on the platform. On Rithmic and WealthCharts evaluations it stops rising at the profit-target level; on Tradovate evaluations it keeps trailing for the whole evaluation.
Does unrealised profit move the Apex drawdown?
On the intraday evaluation, yes — the floor follows the peak account value including open profit. On the EOD evaluation, only closing balances move it.
How long do I have to pass an Apex evaluation?
30 days from access, with no minimum number of trading days.
